Capturing the Changes

Reconstruction du quai de Rennes

The world is constantly evolving. Over time, landscapes are born and disappear, subject to the forces of nature. A forest burns, new growth appears, a sea batters its shore and a riverbed shifts. These changes, however, are speeding up with the intervention of human activity.

With the leap in human population levels and technological power, we are transforming cities, rural landscapes and natural environments in extraordinary ways and at extraordinary speeds. For more than 60 years, Frédéric Back has been aware of how fragile those spaces are, and has worked to discover and capture them in art before they disappear.

Now it’s your turn to observe and capture the changes! Send us your current photographs of one of the places depicted in the virtual museum and be a witness to the transformation of the world.
