With his experience as a set decorator for Radio-Canada, his talent as a graphic artist and his filmmaker's eye, Frédéric Back could have had an excellent career as a set decorator or illustrator for the movies. But luckily for us, his work led him into animation, where he was able to invest his many talents in his wonderful animated films with an environmental message.

Frédéric Back also contributed to some dramatic and documentary films by well-known Quebec directors: Champlain by Denys Arcand, YUL 871 by Jacques Godbout, Memories of Earth by Jean Lemire and Le Survenant by Éric Canuel.
